Lot 4: Occupational First Aid Refresher Training

Servisource are now part of the Office of Government Procurement Single Supplier Framework for National Health and Safety Training, Consultancy and Advisory Services to the Irish Public Sector.

Servisource will be providing training for Lot 4: First Aid Responder Refresher Training.

The First Aid Responder training course provides appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. PHECC has designed the First Aid Response (FAR) Standard to offer appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. This standard is designed to meet first aid and basic life support (BLS) requirements that a person known as “First Aid Responder” may encounter. The FAR Standard meets the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) requirement for occupational first aid training for the workplace. The Child and Family Agency (TUSLA) guidance also recognises FAR as the standard for child care.

The course also includes how to deal with life threatening injuries and symptoms including cardiac and respiratory arrest, bleeding, burns, broken bones and strains, choking, chest pain and dizziness. Our focus is on the practical aspect of the training ensuring that as much of the time as possible is spent practising the scenarios likely to occur in a given workplace.

Training courses will be arranged in a suitable room at your location,

Since the 1st June 2018, the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) only recognises the Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) First Aid Response standard as meeting the needs of occupational first aid in workplaces While QQI OFA courses completed prior to 1st June 2018 will be recognised for the full 2 years duration, courses after that date will not be recognised by the HSA. Also, the PHECC instructor/learner ratio is 1:8 and not 1:10 which was the case on the previous QQI courses – This lends itself to a better learning environment.

Course duration 3 days & certified for 2 years. Refresher course to be completed every 2 years in order to keep your qualification active and recognised.
